Welcome Letter form the Instructor

Welcome

Anthony Farao

Dear Students,

Welcome to Introduction to Agriculture Business (AGBUS-010) at Lemoore College!

Whether this is your first college agriculture course or one of many in your journey, I’m excited to have you here. Agriculture is the backbone of our communities, our economy, and our future—and understanding the business side of it is essential for anyone planning to lead, manage, or innovate in this industry.

This textbook—Fundamentals of Agricultural Business—was carefully curated specifically for you. Unlike traditional textbooks that can feel bloated or outdated, this no-fluff resource was designed to align directly with the Course Outline of Record (COR) and Student Learning Outcomes for this course at Lemoore College. It supports what we do in class and what you’ll need to succeed in the real world.

Each chapter corresponds to one week of the course, helping you stay focused and on pace throughout our 8-week journey together. Inside, you’ll find clear explanations, real-world examples, vocabulary you’ll use in your career, and opportunities to reflect on your own ideas and goals. I’ve also included practice questions to help reinforce key concepts as we go.

This book—and this course—are about more than just learning facts. They’re about equipping you with practical tools, critical thinking skills, and industry awareness that will prepare you for work in the diverse and evolving field of agriculture.

As your instructor, I am here to support you. I encourage you to reach out through Canvas, stop by during office hours, or connect during class meetings. We’re building something together—your future in agriculture—and I’m honored to be part of that process with you.

Here’s to a great term of learning, growing, and leading.

Sincerely,

Mr. Anthony M. Farao, M.A.E.
Professor of Agriculture
